How to Make a Duct Tape Flower Pen
Today, I’ll be sharing how to make a duct tape flower pen and how it is so easy to do and very fun too. There are actually a lot of duct tape projects out there in which you and your kids can have this a bonding moment with them. But for today I’ll be sharing the DIY duct tape flower pen.
How to Make a Duct Tape Flower Pen
The Materials that you will need on How to Make a Duct Tape Flower Pen are:
Colorful Duct Tapes
Razor Blade
Ruler
Tape Measure
Pens
Step 1
Start by measuring the length of the pen that you are going to use. Then cut the same measurement onto the duct tape using the razor blade and the ruler (the razor blade is so much easier to use rather than the scissors). You can use any color, it is all up to you on which color you like but most likely I would use the green one to represent the stem.
Step 2
Simply wrap the duct tape onto the base of your pen. Use the same method for the cap of your pen, if ever it has one. Cut any excess of the duct tape and use it to cover the rest of the pen cap.
Step 3
You can now then start making the petals by measuring 16 inches of duct tape. Use the razor blade and the ruler to cut every 2 inches of the duct tape. This will give you 8 perfect 2×2 square. This will be for your flower petals. I’m making two colors for the petals for this DIY duct tape project, so that is 16 inches for one color and another 16 inches of a different color.
Step 4
Take one 2×2 square and fold one corner toward the middle. Take the other corner next to it and do the same by taking it to the middle. Just make sure that you have the bottom edges aligned. You should have half an inch of the tape exposed and on the other tip, it should have a fold and that will be the flower petal. Do the same procedure with the rest of the petals. Once done, lay them out so they will be ready once you use them.
Step 5
Decide which color would be the inner flower petal then start wrapping the petal at the base of the pen. On the direct opposite of the first petal, wrap the next petal. For the next petal, place it where there is a gap on the opposite side of the petal and followed by the next petal on the other opposite side. Once you already have the four petals for a guideline, just add the petals on the spaces. Then just add the next colors of the petals as you go.
Step 6
Cut another 2 square pieces and cut them out diagonally. This will have four small triangular shapes. Place the triangle shape tape at the base where the petal meets the pen;place it by having the pointy side up.
This duct tape flower pens are so cute and adorable. On my next blog, I’ll be making some other duct tape projects but for now we will just stick on how to make a duct tape flower pen.

How to Make Pabitin for Children Party Games
One of the great and fun children party games that I have experienced during my visit in the Philippines is called the “Pabitin”. It is game where couples of sticks being hanged and form of somewhat like a frame that is attached to rope through the ceiling and bunch of foods and toys are being hanged in the “Pabitin”. It is also called the Philippines version of piñata. I wanted to have this game for my niece’s birthday party next month but unfortunately I cannot seem to find where I could go and get one. So what I did was call up my friend back in the Philippines and ask her what the “Pabitin” is made of. Thanks to her she immediately shoot me an email of the materials I will be needing and how to do it. She sent me some pictures too and was generous enough to allow me to use her pictures for this. I’ll attach some below.
Children Party Games – Pabitin
Materials:
8 pieces of stick (2.5” to 3” in length)
Ribbons
Strings or sewing threads
Toys or food (it is all up to you how many you’d like to put in the “Pabitin”)
Scissors and Scotch Tape
First, you need to wrap the sticks with beautiful ribbons or any wrappers that you want. The colorful the Pabitin is, the better. This will most likely look great when it is already hanging from above the ceiling or from a branch of a tree.
Second, you need to make a frame using the sticks. You first lay the first 4 sticks on a flat surface horizontallyand on top of that place the other 4 sticks vertically. Place the sticks about 6 to 7 inches apart from each stick.
Third, tie a knot on each stick. Make sure that they won’t easily break off.
Fourth, put a string on each toys and goodies and tie them to the Pabitin. One toy or goodies on each corner and just basically put the toys anywhere on the frame.
Fifth, hang the Pabitin on a tree branch or on a ceiling with the tied onto it.
How to Play the Children Party Games – “Pabitin”
You basically have the children under the Pabitin, and then have someone pull up and down the Pabitin using the rope. Kids can start on grabbing every toy and goodies that is on the Pabitin. Isn’t this a great new way for everyone to enjoy on children party games?

DIY Heart Cut Out Shirts
Today is another day for a DIY cut out shirts. And today I’ll be making a DIY Heart Cut out Shirt. If you have read my other blog about my DIY Skull Shirt, then this DIY project is as much easier than the skull shirt. The materials for this project are pretty much the same with the DIY Skull shirt, but I would still note them down for you. The only thing that is being added for this project is a sticky tape or the masking tape. I would prefer if you use about an inch thick for the masking, but if you don’t have any masking tape, any tape would do as long as it will stick onto the fabric.
DIY Heart Cut out Shirts
Materials you will need for the DIY Heart Cut out Shirts are:
- Sharp Scissors
- Clips to hold the shirt together at the front part of the shirt
- Stretchy T-shirts (For a beginners, you can use ordinary shirts that you are ready to throw away just in case you don’t like what you did on your first cut out shirt)
- Cardboard Box (A box that would fit the size of the shirt or just about the size of it.)
- Masking Tape or Sticky Tape
Procedure:
Place the cardboard box inside the shirt. Making sure that the hollow part of the box is at the back part of your shirt. If your box is a bit small and the shirt is a bit loose, use a clip to hold the front part of the shirt, so that the shirt won’t move a lot as you cut out the shirt.
Once the cardboard box and the shirt are in place, use the masking tape to shape it into a heart. This will help guide you where you need to cut the shirt out. Just like the ones on the photo attached. You first place a masking tape right on the middle of the shirt. Place some masking tapes on the sides forming it into a heart shape.
Once the masking tape is in place, make a horizontal snips. You can start from the top then all the way to the bottom. You can start by making a one inch snip then making it wider if you need them to. With this cut out shirt project, for the heart shape, you will need to start with short slits until it becomes wider then back to smaller slits as you go at the bottom.
Once the slits are made, you then gently tug the shirt or stretch out the slits. The slits will make into a rib cage effect. Do the same on the other part of the heart then you are on your way to making your DIY Cut out Shirts.

Homemade Natural Mosquito Repellant
Making natural mosquito repellent is a great way to get rid of mosquitoes in your area. Of course nobody wants to be bitten with mosquitoes the whole time because their bites are very itchy and sometimes brings diseases that lead to death if left uncured.
Having mosquito problems is very common to wet countries where mosquitoes can lay their eggs anywhere they want as long as there’s a presence of stagnant water. For this reason, different scientists worldwide combine their ideas or made individual experimentation just to provide solution to this problem.
There were already made chemicals that could kill mosquitoes but may harm our health. In this connection, the idea of making natural mosquito repellent has popularly increasing because of its benefits. The good thing about natural repellents is that it doesn’t contain harmful chemicals that we might inhale and harm our inner system.
What it does is that, it only helps us to take away those irritating mosquitoes in our surroundings. Making natural things to get rid of mosquitoes is an effective technique to save your money from buying expensive mosquito killers and putting yourself away from possible hazards from those mosquito killers products might bring.
INGREDIENTS
5 drops lavender oil
5 drops citronella essential oil
4 tablespoons of homemade vanilla extract
5 tablespoons of lemon Juice
HOW TO PREPARE
1.) Get a spray bottle and mix all the ingredients on it. Fill the rest with water and shake well before using.
2.) Your mosquito repellent is now ready to use. Spray your house with this amazing repellent and see its impressive results.
To be honest, I’ve been using mosquito killer products before but because of its threat that might harm anyone, I stop using it but instead look for some alternatives that is cheaper and safe which is the homemade natural mosquito repellent. As a matter of fact, I had saved a big amount of money by using this natural mosquito repellent.
