DIY Denim Lace Shorts

Materials for DIY Denim Lace Shorts:

Old pair of denim shorts

Scissors

2 Yards of Lace

Matching Thread and Needles

Measuring Tape

*if you prefer to use a fabric glue, that is fine too. But for this DIY Denim Lace Shorts project, I sew them up just to make sure it won’t wear off easily.

Procedure for DIY Denim Lace Shorts:

Sewing:

1. Using your old pair of denim shorts, lay them flat on a table or a flat surface.


2. For this one DIY Denim Lace Shorts project, you will only be putting lace at the bottom of the shorts. You need to measure the size of the bottom part of each side of the shorts. This will help you get the correct measurement of the lace.


3. Once you already have gotten the right measurement for each, you can now then begin placing the lace at the bottom of the short. Then pin the lace to ensure that the lace won’t move as you sew them up.


4. Grab the needle and the matching thread and begin to sew the lace onto the shorts. I usually start at the side of the shorts, making sure that the lace I am using will be equally divided and so that the lace will be sewn around the bottom of the shorts properly.


5. Sew the lace as you work your way around it. You can use any different style for stitching, depends on how comfortable you will be.

Fabric Glue:

1. Using your old pair of denim shorts, lay them flat on a table or a flat surface.


2. When you are going to use the glue, you will also need to measure the right size and length of the lace that you will be using.


3. Lay the lace at the bottom part of the shorts, making sure that it will be equally divided through the front then through the back part of the shorts.


4. Using some fabric glue is a lot easier; just make sure you won’t make any mess out of it.  So, put some glue on the back part of the lace and gently press into the shorts nicely. Put on some fabric glue on the lace and make your way around the denim shorts.


5. Make sure that you have place the lace nicely and even.

Now, isn’t that easy? Making your own denim lace shorts is very easy breezy, and you can do this in less than an hour.
